What an absolutely wonderful way to celebrate the end of 2020 with the amazing End of Year Concert. The teachers and students did an incredible job at adapting and presenting 'Jungle Drums' by Graham Base. It really was a team effort and all the students were so talented! Thank you to the P&C for providing the students with intermission treats and being so adaptive to our event restrictions. I was so pleased that this community event could go ahead and we could celebrate all together. Another huge congratulations to all the book prize winners and another thanks to all the sponsors from the evening. I hope that the award winners are motivated and inspired by their new books tailored to their subjects. Mrs Tracey Berry put in a lot of work behind the scenes to make the night run smoothly with programs, song words, blurbs and the amazing highlights video. Thank you for your hard work! 

I wanted to take this chance to express how grateful I feel for my term at Scaddan. I have certainly learnt a lot and really enjoyed getting to know and understand the community. I have especially loved getting to know these wonderful students who have welcomed me into the school. They really are what it is all about and I hope that I have made a small, positive impact in their learning journey.

Solar Panel Installation

Yesterday, work began on our school library solar panels! Today we had the pleasure of hosting the CEO of Horizon Power, Stephanie Unwin, who joined us for a tour of the school and morning tea. She spoke with the children about the importance of sustainability and the exciting programs that they have planned for regional WA. Thank you to Jess Sanders and her team from MPS for coordinating the safe and efficient installation. We cannot wait to utilise solar energy at Scaddan as it aligns with our Sustainability Plan and we can prioritise programs to benefit the students' learning. 

Term 1 EA

We look froward to welcoming Mrs Paula Guerini at Scaddan Primary School for Term 1 next year as Early Childhood Mainstream Education Assistant, while the recruitement process is being run for the fixed term position for Terms 2-4. 

Donation and Holiday visit

David Bourne (the head of boarding and head of senior school at Hale) and Mr Dean Dell’Oro (the headmaster) attended Scaddan during the holidays to see what had been done with the substantial donations made after the fire in 2015. Mandy, a current parent at the school, presented a Hakia which will be planted in the principal’s garden.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Tomorrow we will be holding a mini assembly to present the Value Star certificates from the term and a final Values Token winner! 

At midday we will be having a special guest at the school followed by a Sausage Sizzle! Thank you to the parents for organising this lovely gesture on the last day of school. 

Finally, students will need to bring their bathers, hat and a change of clothes tomorrow. Students are allowed to wear FREE DRESS for the last day of school! Especially after so many photo events this term, the students have earnt an amazing award!
