Camps

It is important that our students participate in a range of experiences outside of the classroom where they learn new skills, engage in challenging activities and develop teamwork competency and a level of independence, all in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our students take part in several exciting camps throughout the year. We value the opportunity for them to attend Mallee Swim Camp or Swim week in Term 3, where our Pre Primary – Year 6 students get the opportunity to attend swimming lessons and participate in a range of activities within Esperance. During Term 2, our Year 5/6 students have the opportunity to attend camps in Western Australia and Canberra.

Sport

Our students have the opportunity to experience a range of sports throughout the year.

We provide a curriculum which enables the students to participate in a range of sports. We also place great emphasis on the teaching of Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS). Our strong partnerships within the local area provide great opportunities for the students; for example, our links with the other town and Mallee primary schools have enabled students to network and participate in planned events such as ‘Have a Go’ Day which provides students with sporting taster sessions.

In Term 1, Scaddan Primary School holds its Faction Carnival giving students a chance to take part in individual and team athletic events. We also partake in the Interschool Carnival alongside other Mallee Schools (Munglinup PS, Cascade PS, Salmon Gums PS, Condingup PS) where our communities come together for friendly competition and the opportunity for students to socialise together.

Assemblies

Our assemblies, which commence at 2.00pm, take place during Week 4 and 8 of each term (except in Term 4 which is preparation time for the End of Year Concert).  The Early Childhood, Junior and Senior classes alternate in leading the assembly and performing/presenting their work. Assemblies also give us the opportunity to acknowledge our amazing students and to present a number of certificates and prizes. After the assembly, parents have the opportunity to visit classrooms for a ‘Tray Peak’ and afternoon tea.

Parent, families and community members are always welcome to join us.

At Scaddan Primary School there are events that occur every year.
